The City Clerk's Office is also responsible for conducting elections and maintaining accurate voter information. Elections have a set schedule of the first Tuesday after the first Monday in May, August and November and additional dates for a Presidential Primary, State or Federal initiated elections.
The City of Norton Shores is always looking for registered voters in the State of Michigan to come work the polls on election day! Election inspectors are scheduled to work from 6am until after the polls close at 8pm. You will be able to take breaks throughout the day and rotate work stations so that you get to do a little bit of everything! Our election inspectors make $13 an hour and there are two chairs at every precinct that make $15 an hour. Although it is a long day, it is very rewarding to help administer an election!
