The Norton Shores Fire Department is dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment through professional, compassionate, and courageous fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, and fire-prevention education. Serving our community and lakeshore 24/7, we uphold the highest standards of integrity, preparedness, and teamwork to ensure the safety and well-being of all who live in and visit Norton Shores.

The Norton Shores Fire Department provides fire, medical, and rescue services to the residents and visitors of Norton Shores and Roosevelt Park. The Department's Fire Prevention Bureau provides fire prevention inspections of new and existing buildings, public safety education programs, and maintains Hazardous Material information for area businesses. The department serves an area of 25.5 square miles, with a total population of 26,417, encompassing both the cities of Norton Shores and Roosevelt Park. The City of Roosevelt Park and Muskegon County Airport are under contractual agreements for response services.

The department's staffing includes a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal, 27 full-time firefighters, 6 part-time firefighters, and 2 full-time Administrative Assistants. Our firefighters provide Norton Shores and Roosevelt Park coverage of three fire stations, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and staff a fourth station at the Muskegon County Airport.
