The City just recently implemented the Do-Not-Knock Registry and is actively educating permitted solicitors about the new requirements as they apply for licenses.

If you encounter a solicitor who does not appear to be registered or seems suspicious, we encourage residents to contact the Police Department. The same applies if your address is on the Do-Not-Knock Registry and a solicitor approaches your home.

Residents may call 911 at any time for immediate concerns, the non-emergency Dispatch line at 231-722-3524, or the Police Department during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) at 231-733-2691.
