Permits are valid through the calendar year, expiring on December 31st.

Hours of operation under this permit are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or sundown (whichever is first). Permit does not give exclusive right to any one location.

Charitable, non-profit or religious organizations may have the fees waived but are required to register with this form at the City Clerk’s Office; submit your proof of 501c3 status; and describe the proposed activities for consideration.

Processing may take up to one week and upon approval a photo ID will be issued which must be kept visible any time business is conducted within the City of Norton Shores. Photos and company information will be posted on the City’s website. Permit fee is $150.00 per solicitor and a non- refundable $15 background report fee.

The fingerprints of the person or persons having the management or supervision of the business; or, in lieu thereof, at least three letters of recommendation from reliable property owners in the county, certifying to the applicant’s good character and business responsibility or other evidence which establishes the good character and business responsibility of the applicant is required to be submitted PRIOR to the solicitation permit being issued.
