Permits are valid through the calendar year, expiring on December 31st.

No solicitor, peddler, transient merchant, or itinerant vendor shall engage in door-todoor solicitation except during the hours of 11:00 am. to 7:00 pm. when daylight saving time is in effect, and except during the hours of 11:00 am. to 5:00 pm. when daylight saving time is not in effect. Additionally, no door-to-door solicitation shall occur on Sundays or federal holidays.

Charitable, non-profit or religious organizations may have the fees waived but are required to register with this form at the City Clerk’s Office; submit your proof of 501c3 status; and describe the proposed activities for consideration.

Processing may take up to one week and upon approval a photo ID will be issued which must be kept visible any time business is conducted within the City of Norton Shores. Photos and company information will be posted on the City’s website. Permit fee is $150.00 per solicitor and a non- refundable $15 background report fee.
