Lake Harbor Trail, Mona Lake Channel to Henry Street

Norton Shores, MI

 

As you may be aware, the City of Norton Shores is proposing the installation of an 8-foot paved non-motorized trail along the west side of Lake Harbor Road from the Mona Lake Channel Bridge to the intersection of Lake Harbor Road and Henry Street.

The City has received plans, which are 90% completed, and ready for public viewing. A majority of the trail will be located within the public right-of-way, although there are a few properties where either temporary consent of access will be needed for grading or permanent easement for the trail or structures. Work is scheduled to start in either mid-summer or early fall of 2024.

A public meeting/open house is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2024, between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m., at the Norton Shores Branch Library community room, 705 Seminole Road, Norton Shores, MI 49441. Plans will be provided for viewing, and staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
