Investigations

The department's investigations function is assigned to the Detective Bureau, which is led by Det/Sgt Daniel Hibler. Det/Cpl Emily Blum, Det Todd Swanker, and Det Stephanie Alm are all assigned to the general case load. Members of the detective bureau are responsible for any follow-up investigations, and the collection, processing, and proper storage of evidence. In addition, personnel collaborate with other agencies on special investigations of organized crime, narcotics, etc., and maintain all evidence and unclaimed property.

 

Violence Against Women Task Force

With funding provided by the Office on Violence Against Women, NSPD is proud to partner with the Muskegon Police Department and Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office in forming a dedicated task force to address acts of domestic assault, criminal sexual assault, stalking, and other acts of intimate partner violence. Detectives Kyle Neher and Sara Trombley are currently assigned to this specialized task force.

 

Safe Seniors Task Force
With funding provided by the Muskegon County Senior Millage, NSPD is proud to partner with the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department and Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office in forming a dedicated task force to address all forms of elder abuse (financial, physical, and negligence). Detective Jared Passchier is currently assigned to this specialized task force.
