Problem Oriented Intelligence-Led Neighborhood Team

Problem Oriented Intelligence-led Neighborhood Team (POINT) is led by Lieutenant Brandon Poel and Sergeant Scott VanWylen. The division consists of three officers and one corporal. POINT officers are responsible for a variety of community policing programs and services, including Neighborhood Watch, serving as school resource officers, providing crime prevention efforts, evidence collection, sex offender registry investigations, and various other criminal investigations.  

 

Each POINT Officer is assigned to act as a liaison for the schools within Norton Shores. Their assignments are as follows:

 

  • Officer David Wypa: Mona Shores High School
  • Officer Payton Haney: Mona Shores Middle School
  • Officer Christopher Madley: All Mona Shores Elementary Schools & Muskegon Montessori
  • Corporal Jacob Brace: Western Michigan Christian Schools
